Suspect ID'd in attempted rape
Police have identified a suspect in the attempted rape of an elderly woman.

MELROSE, Bronx (WABC) -- Police have identified a suspect in the attempted rape of a 74-year-old woman in the Bronx.

Investigators believe 23-year-old Joshua McCallum is the man seen on surveillance video walking into the elevator of a Melrose apartment building on Aug. 18.

Right behind him, the victim's walker is seen as she got on the elevator.

Police say McCallum followed the woman off the elevator and as she approached her apartment door he put her in a choke hold and groped her.

Officers say he ran off when she banged on a neighbor's door.

Police are still looking for him.

The NYPD describes the suspect as male, black, dark complexion, approximately 20-years of age, 5'7", last seen wearing a black baseball cap, two toned Jordan sneakers, black short sleeved shirt and black shorts.
