NYACK, N.Y. (WABC) -- State police said all lanes of the New York Thruway have reopened after a wreck early Wednesday morning involving two tractor-trailers.

At first all four northbound lanes in Rockland County were closed, then officials reopened one.

Troopers said the first tractor trailer got a flat tire and pulled over onto the shoulder. Then, a truck hauling 5-gallon plastic bottles of water caught fire after hitting the disabled vehicle on Interstate 87 around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday. It lost control, hit the abutment and caught fire. The tires exploded in the fire.

Police said the scene was at the Franklin Street overpass just north of Exit 10.

According to troopers, the truck driver suffered minor injuries.

The crash is causing major traffic backups. The Thruway Authority is advising northbound motorists to seek alternate routes.
