POWELL, Ohio -- A baby tiger trio is melting hearts at an Ohio zoo. They're just a couple of days old, but are already working on their roars.
The male Amur tiger cubs were born at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium on Tuesday morning and weigh only 2.5 pounds.
Sadly, their first-time mother, Irisa, abandoned the newborns shortly after birth.
Animal specialists and veterinarians are now caring for the cubs, who are said to be doing well, in an incubator. It is unknown when zoo visitors will be able to see the cubs.
Amur tigers are a critically endangered species with fewer than 400 left in the Russian Far East, according to the zoo's Facebook page.
