TIMES SQUARE (WABC) -- The New York City Police Department has increased security in Times Square and two other locations in Manhattan in response to the military shooting in Tennessee.
According to the NYPD, more officers were added in these locations:
* Armed Forces Recruiting Station in Times Square
* U.S. Army Recruiting Station at 143 Chambers Street in Lower Manhattan
* US Coast Guard Recruiting Station, 1 South Street, near the Staten Island Ferry Terminal, Lower Manhattan
Police said there was no specific threat the the NYC location, but extra security was provided as part of the NYPD's daily counterterrorism response to events.
In Chattanooga, a mass shooting at two military facilities, including a recruiting facility, left at least five people dead, including the gunman.
