BRONX (WABC) -- A Yonkers man driving the wrong way was killed in an auto accident in the Bronx on Tuesday morning.

Police say the 63-year-old drove the wrong way up an exit ramp from the Major Deegan Expressway just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of East 233rd Street and Jerome Avenue in the Woodlawn section.

His Toyota Camry collided with a black Honda that was making a right turn onto Jerome Avenue, authorities said. The Toyota then sideswiped a dump truck.

The driver of the wrong-way vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

None of the other drivers was seriously injured.

East 233rd Street was closed from the Major Deegan Expressway to near Van Cortlandt Park for the ongoing investigation.
