LONG ISLAND CITY, Queens (WABC) -- Authorities say a man found lying in a street in Queens was the victim of a hit and run.
The victim was found at 21st Street and 49th Avenue near the Queens Midtown Tunnel in Long Island City just after 8 p.m. Sunday night.
He was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition.
Doctors at the hospital determined that the victim sustained injuries from being struck by a vehicle.
The vehicle apparently did not stop.
Police are now investigating the injuries as a hit and run and are trying to get a description of the vehicle involved.
21st Street is closed both ways for the investigation.
