Man jumps from moving car, runs across parkway and gets hit in bizarre fatal crash

NEW YORK (WABC) -- A man is dead after being hit by a car after a bizarre series of events on the Cross Island Parkway.

Police say the 54-year-old man was driving east on the Grand Central Parkway when he got out of his car while it was still moving.

He then ran across the west bound lanes and tried to cross the north bound lanes of the Cross Island Parkway when was hit by a van.

The victim's name has not been released.
