Metro-North fare hike starts the New Year

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut (WABC) -- Metro-North fares are going up again to start the New Year.
The hike will affect prices between stations in Connecticut and New York on the main New Haven line.
This is the seventh consecutive year that the fare has increased by one percent.
The money from the price increase will be used to pay for new M-8 rail cars.
