Pedestrian killed in hit and run crash in Lindenhurst, Long Island

LINDENHURST (WABC) -- Suffolk County Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Lindenhurst early Monday morning.

According to police, John Aluska was walking on Montauk Highway at approximately 1:20 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Montauk Highway.

Aluska, 61, of Lindenhurst, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
