Sandy Kenyon reviews 'Trainwreck'

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Amy Schumer moves from small screen to big and luckily for all of us the title describes her character's life and not this movie, which is far from a "Trainwreck."

The star plays a magazine writer assigned to do a profile on a sports doctor played by Bill Hader.

Love is what blooms for this couple with a little help from his friend LeBron James.

This is so much more than a cameo part for the legendary forward of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who shows he has a real flair for comedy.

Not every joke works but this is more delight than disaster and "Trainwreck" is filled with hard truths.

Some of you might well recognize yourself in Amy or at least find her doubts about Bill quite familiar.

Schumer's voice is as distinctive as it is funny. Very raunchy, of course, but also filled with heart and soul.

I took our managing editor Marilu Galvez to see "Trainwreck" with me and she "loved it," praising the "great chemistry" between the two stars. She laughed a lot and even shed a tear or two during a movie we both agreed was "very entertaining."
