Hidden New York: Bomb shelter
Hidden New York explores a bomb shelter tucked away inside an iconic NYC structure.

BROOKLYN, New York (WABC) -- A bomb shelter was discovered accidentally by city workers doing a routine check on the Brooklyn Bridge.

No one is sure when it was built or who it was for.

Inside the shelter, workers found blankets, water and food rations like crackers.

It is assumed it was built during the cold war era of the 1950s and supplies inside carry dates from that time and the 1960s.
