BROOKLYN, N.Y. (WABC) -- A construction worker was rescued from a 5-foot trench in Brooklyn Friday morning after being stuck for more than an hour.
The dramatic scene played out on Dean Street in Crown Heights around 10 a.m.
Firefighters scrambled to pull the man out while the trench was shored up. The victim was said to be conscious and alert as he was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
He never buried in debris, according to authorities.
A Department of Buildings spokesperson said inspectors were on site and conducting an investigation.
A stop-work order was expected.
