Uber driver charged with sexual assault in New Jersey

ALPINE, New Jersey (WABC) -- An Uber driver was arrested by police in New Jersey Tuesday after he was charged with sexually assaulting a woman last summer.

Authorities say Dearan Bennett, 35, of Brooklyn, attacked a woman he was driving in Alpine on June 1.

The woman then called 911 to report the incident to police, which resulted in the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office taking the case.

Bennet is due back in court next week.
