Measles advisory issued by NJ Dept. of Health

FORDS, NJ (WABC) -- Health officials have issued a measles alert for people who visited a hotel in Middlesex County.

Someone diagnosed with measles may have exposed people at the Palace Hotel in Fords, N.J. sometime between September 25th and September 30th.

Measles is a highly contagious viral illness that can cause serious medical complications.

Rash, fever, coughing, running nose and watery eyes are a few of the symptoms.

It may take nearly a month before the symptoms appear.

Anyone who may have been at the hotel during those times are urged to contact a health care provider to find out if they have the disease.
