Suspects sought in beating death of man inside Upper West Side store

UPPER WEST SIDE (WABC) -- Police released surveillance images of suspects wanted for a brutal and deadly beating in a store on Manhattan's upper west side.

Police say they beat 26-year-old Buba Camara inside his father's t-shirt shop on Amsterdam Avenue Thursday.

He suffered massive head trauma.

A witness recounted the scene when the victim's father arrived at the hospital.

"I saw the father banging on the floor, distraught, in disbelief that it happened to him," she said. "'Oh no, not my boy, not my boy,' bouncing up and down on the floor. The doctors couldn't console him."

A makeshift memorial for the victim is growing outside the store.

Police believe it was a robbery attempt, but it was unclear if anything was stolen from the store.
