VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. (WABC) -- A man had to be pulled from a manhole on Long Island Wednesday morning.
Emergency workers were at the scene just before noon at Corona Avenue and Higbie Street in Valley Steam.
Adult male climbed out of the manhole covered in dirt. He was treated at the scene.
Officials said he might have been in the sewer for a day, but they don't know why he was in there.
He was dirty, and apparently went in one area and he was taken out in another.
Police were called to the scene after someone called 911 when they heard a person inside the sewer.
The drain is on the west side of Corona Avenue.
