BAYONNE, New Jersey (WABC) -- A water main break disrupted water service for all of Bayonne, New Jersey, Thursday morning.

Mayor James Davis said the break near the intersection of 55th Street and Broadway caused no water pressure throughout the city, and crews worked through the morning to fix it.

Full water pressure was restored at about 10 a.m.

It's not clear yet if it was a 20- or 30-inch main -- but either way, Davis said it wasn't good.

As a precaution, the city dispatched five water tankers -- one to a hospital and four to firehouses.

"Right now, we are hoping we can figure it out so we can turn and start getting water pressure back to the city," Mayor Davis said during the water outage. "So that when people wake up in the morning, they have some sort of water pressure. But at this point there is no telling when that is going to happen."

Officials are saying there's no need to boil water at this point. If residents notice cloudiness in their tap, they should just run it until it is clear.
