17-year-old girl dies of injuries after stabbing in Bronx
Anthony Johnson is in the Soundview section of the Bronx with details on the deadly stabbing of a 17-year-old girl.

SOUNDVIEW, Bronx (WABC) -- A 17-year-old girl is dead after being stabbed in the middle of the afternoon in the Bronx.

Indications are the 17-year-old had a dispute on Thursday outside 1105 Boynton Ave in Soundview just before 2:30 p.m. with another teen. The suspect then pulled a knife and viciously plunged it into the body of the 17-year-old multiple times.

Crime scene units arrived to gather evidence after the attacker was taken into custody.

The victim and the suspect both live in the same building and the violence happened just as school was ending for the day.

Residents say police officers are usually on patrol in the neighborhood following another recent crime in the area, and say the residents and police need to cooperate to make the area safe for everyone.

The 15-year-old suspect ran back into the building after the stabbing and was arrested by police.

A few other teenagers on the scene were questioned and released.
