Thursday, November 17, 2016
NEW YORK (WABC) -- Amazon's has big Black Friday news, a Package X-Ray feature for its iPhone shopping app. The app can now leverage a customer's iPhone's camera to reveal the contents of an Amazon delivery without having to actually open up the package or hunt down tracking numbers.

Amazon anticipates that during the holiday season a customer may receive many Amazon packages fairly regularly. The new feature will allow the customer to quickly sift through boxes to decide which ones they need to be opened right away and which can wait.

The app will allow the customers to keep presents concealed before they are ready to start wrapping. They hope it will add convenience to Black Friday shopping this year

The x-ray app will only work on packages tied to an Amazon account. Kids and spouses will no longer be able to take a sneak peek and ruin the surprise before holidays.
