Police looking for driver who struck and killed a pedestrian before running away in Queens

ASTORIA, Queens (WABC) -- A pedestrian was fatally struck in Queens, and the driver who hit him fled on foot.

It happened around 4 a.m. in the Astoria section of Queens, where police say a victim was struck at Astoria Boulevard and Steinway Street.

According to NYPD, a BMW was driving east on Astoria Boulevard when it hit the pedestrian.

After the collision, the driver of the vehicle is said to have run away from the scene.

The victim taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

That BMW was towed away from the scene around 8:30 a.m.



An arrest has yet to be made.
