WAKEFIELD, Bronx (WABC) -- Police are searching for the driver who struck and killed a man in the Bronx Thursday morning.
The accident happened at the intersection of Nereid and Richardson Avenues in the Wakefield section.

The 72-year-old man was crossing at the intersection when he was struck by a black Ford Fusion that was making a left hand turn from Nereid onto Richardson Avenue, according to police.
The vehicle fled the scene, headed east on Nereid Avenue.
The victim was transported to Jacobi Medical Center with traumatic injuries to his leg and neck. He was pronounced dead at around 1 p.m.
