KINGSBRIDGE HEIGHTS, Bronx (WABC) -- Police are on the hunt for two people who robbed a mother and her toddler at gunpoint in the Bronx.

It happened Wednesday inside the lobby of the victim's apartment building in Kingsbridge Heights.

Police say the suspects pointed a gun at 35-year-old Maxie Feliz and demanded her property. They then pointed the gun at the 3-year-old boy's head.

Feliz was taking her son, who has autism, to pre-K when they were confronted.

"Why point a gun at a child, why? What did they accomplish doing that?" Feliz said.

The victim said they threw her against the wall and covered her mouth.

The suspects took the woman's car keys, iPhone and wallet with $1,500 cash. They got away her Range Rover SUV.

Video shows them getting out of the vehicle after the incident and walking away with a car seat.

What makes the robbery even more unsettling is police believe Feliz was targeted. According to building residents, the men were seen waiting in the lobby for an hour and 40 minutes -- and even helped a blind tenant take out her garbage.

The victim said unless the thieves were after her car, she is at a loss to explain what happened.

"Never in my life have I seen them before, I don't have a busy social life, I don't run the streets, I came to this country to work," Feliz said.

Investigators are asking for the public's help tracking down the suspects.
