HIGHBRIDGE, Bronx (WABC) -- Police officers are searching for a suspect after a deadly shooting in a Bronx subway station on Friday.
During the busy 6:30 rush at the 167th Street B/D station, a verbal dispute broke out, police say, between a 25-year-old man and a woman with a small child. According to police, a second man then entered the dispute.

"During the dispute, an unknown male drew a weapon and fired one shot, striking our victim in the stomach," said Chief of Transit Edward Delatorre.
Police closed off all the station entrances as curious neighbors grew concerned over possible danger.

The suspect apparently fled the station, and police are searching to see if he possibly tossed a weapon in the trash along the sidewalk.
