And now, instead of walking, she takes the bus, which picks her up and drops her off at home.
Police say a man approached the girl and used a Nintendo Switch to try to lure her into a grey sedan around 2 p.m. Oct. 5
When she ran away, sources say the suspect chased her but she was able to get away.
The man spoke to her in Spanish, but on the phone he spoke in another language she did not recognize.
Her mother is consumed with guilt for allowing her daughter to go out with friends that day.
She says she thought her daughter was making a quick trip to the store. She didn't know she would be hanging out around the school.

Her daughter was with a friend who is also scared and has stayed home since the incident.
Police released an image of the suspect and are asking for the public's help tracking him down for questioning.
