Christopher Columbus statue vandalized in Yonkers park

YONKERS, New York (WABC) -- A statue of Christopher Columbus has been vandalized in Yonkers.

Over the weekend at Columbus Memorial Park, someone knocked over a bust of the explorer, breaking the plaster statue.

Part of the statue was found at the base of the pedestal, and another piece was located at the top of a nearby hill.

The statue has been vandalized at least twice before.
