ELMONT, Long Island (WABC) -- A father from Long Island who was once accused of abandoning his daughter in a Subway restaurant is under arrest again, this time for allegedly punching her.

Detectives say 36-year-old Stanley Frederique was seen repeatedly punching his 5-year-old near Elmont Road Park Wednesday afternoon.

Back in 2015, he allegedly left her in the sandwich shop in Harlem. She was 3 at the time.

He was taken into custody the next day, claiming he had problems and was drunk.

He later pleaded guilty and was allowed to participate in a substance abuse program that reduced his conviction to a misdemeanor.
