Police capture parolee who escaped from custody on Staten Island

TOMPKINSVILLE, Staten Island (WABC) -- Police have arrested a man who escaped custody in handcuffs on Staten Island.

41-year-old Hector Calo took off early Thursday morning after being arrested for parole violations.

He slipped away from state parole officers, out the back door of his home.

Calo was on parole for burglary after spending time in state prison in Fishkill.

Police located him in a Bronx apartment.



He is facing multiple charges, including escape from custody, criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon: loaded firearm.
