Tractor-trailer fire causes major delays on George Washington Bridge

FORT LEE, New Jersey (WABC) -- A tractor-trailer fire caused major delays at the George Washington Bridge Tuesday morning.

It happened under the apartments on the eastbound Trans-Manhattan Expressway.

At one point all lanes on the inbound upper level were blocked, and there were delays of up to nearly two hours.

The scene was clear by noon, but some delays remained.

There is no word on what caused the fire.
