The Record reports the ten trees that were accidentally cut down at Harrington Park Public School in June included one that was planted as a memorial to a 9/11 victim from Harrington Park.
School board officials say nine trees were supposed to be trimmed by Rockland Electric but instead were cut.
Superintendent Adam Fried says the memorial tree was accidentally removed by a company hired to create new parking spaces at the school.
Officials will replace the trees and add fencing to maintain a buffer between the school and a neighboring home. A new 9/11 memorial plaque and tree will also be rededicated.
