Exclusive: Video shows NYC hit and run that hurt 4, including 2 kids

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan (WABC) -- A woman was critically injured and two children were among three other people hurt when a car struck them in a hit and run in Manhattan Saturday night.

Police say the vehicle was traveling on Audubon Avenue in Washington Heights just before 9:40 p.m. when the driver made a left turn toward West 183rd Street.

Eyewitness News obtained exclusive surveillance video of the incident, which shows the car plowing into the pedestrians as they crossed the street.

A 36-year-old woman suffered severe head trauma and is in critical condition at Harlem Hospital.

An 8-year-old boy had neck and back pain and an injured ankle, while a 9-year-old boy suffered an abrasions to his forehead.

They were taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.

A 28-year-old woman was also taken to Harlem Hospital with a broken leg.

Police are searching for the driver who was behind the wheel of a gray Mercedes Benz.
