Man killed in Whitestone house fire

WHITESTONE, Queens (WABC) -- A 74-year-old man was killed in a house fire in Queens early Friday morning.

The fire broke out just after 3 a.m. in the home on 18th Avenue in Whitestone.

Firefighters say there was a lot of clutter within the home.



The 74-year-old was rushed to New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he died from smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, although not considered suspicious.
