HOWARD BEACH, Queens (WABC) -- Bricks and portions of the foundation of the home in Howard Beach, Queens, are still scattered throughout the driveway, showing the trail of damage this eerily close crash left behind.

Eyewitness News obtained exclusive surveillance video which shows another near collision just before that car slammed into this house.

In the exclusive nail biting video, you can clearly see two cars driving westbound along 161 Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Friday.

The car in front slows to make a left hand turn, but the white SUV behind it suddenly swerves out of control, accelerating through the intersection before violently slamming into the house.

"I heard a big bang, the house shook," said Christina, a neighbor.

Neighbors say the collision echoed downed the street and several people quickly rushed to help.

A 27-year-old man lying in his bed was injured by the force of the impact and debris.

"Oh my God, I could imagine how they felt," the victim's uncle said.

The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital with head and shoulder injuries, according to the victim's uncle.

"Nephew was in bed, the car went inside, the bed is moving at least three feet out. It almost killed him," he said.

The 47-year-old driver of the SUV and a little girl who was a passenger only suffered minor injuries and were treated and released on scene.

Police say the driver is not facing charges, but a significant amount of damage remains.

A large portion of the basement and garage of the home are now boarded up and members of the New York Buildings Department were on the scene for several hours.
