JAMAICA, Queens (WABC) -- Travelers flying out of Kennedy Airport were advised to give themselves a little extra time to get to the airport Saturday.

AirTrain service was partially shut down from 4 a.m. until 2 p.m. for an annual emergency training exercise.

It did not operate between Federal Circle and Howard Beach.

As part of the emergency exercise, smoke conditions were simulated.

Free shuttle bus service was provided in both directions from Federal Circle to the Howard Beach and Lefferts Boulevard stations. At Federal Circle, passengers were able to transfer to train service to all terminals.
