Water in Lincoln Center fountain mysteriously dyed yellow

LINCOLN CENTER, Manhattan (WABC) -- It was a strange sight at Lincoln Center on Saturday - the water in the famous Revson Fountain was bright yellow.

Lincoln Center's landmark foundation calls it an 'apparent prank.'

A spokesperson for Lincoln Center says at around 1 p.m. someone put a water-based yellow dye pack into the fountain.

The water was shut off earlier so the fountain could be cleaned.

Lincoln Center's security team in investigating along with the NYPD.

The fountain has made several high-profile cameos in movies such as Moonstruck, Ghostbusters and Black Swan.
