Police say Christina Yuna Lee had gotten out of a cab, and at some point, the suspect followed the victim into her building and up six flights of stairs. Neighbors then heard her screaming and called 911.
They say officers found a man who barricaded their access to the inside of the apartment.

Landlord Brian Chin is trying to come to terms with the horrific murder of his tenant.
"She did nothing wrong -- she entered, and he followed her," said Chin, "I'm angry, I'm devastated for this woman and her family, devastated, heartbroken for everyone in the building."
The suspect, Assamad Nash, 25 was caught trying to get away down the fire escape.
"When I heard that he tried to flee via the fire escape, my heart dropped, because in order to get down there, you have to pass my window," said a woman who lives on the second floor.
Chin says the building is secure.
"We have solid metal doors, we have multiple locks, every point of entry -- we have alarms for the roof, we have alarms for the basement," he said.

Despite that, the sense of security for those living in the building is now ripped away.
Assamad Nash, 25, was taken into custody. Charges are pending.
Sources say Nash has been arrested at least seven times since 2015, the most recent incident being January 6, 2022.
