Garbage truck fire under Metro North tracks in Harlem temporarily halts service

HARLEM, Manhattan (WABC) -- A garbage truck fire underneath Metro North Tracks in Harlem temporarily halted service late Wednesday night.

The fire occurred at E. 119th and Park Avenue around 11:30 p.m.

Power to Metro North tracks was disabled as a precaution, stalling trains at Grand Central Terminal.

FDNY reports that the fire was extinguished, and power was restored to the tracks.

The MTA has not released a statement.
