NYPD search continues for missing 13-year-old boy last seen going into East River: police

EAST VILLAGE, Manhattan (WABC) -- Police are stilll searching for a 13-year-old who was last seen going into the East River, according to witnesses.

The incident happened just after 4 p.m. on Friday at East River Park at E. 6th Street in the East Village.

Police say the teen was last seen going into the water and has not returned.

As of Saturday morning, the search by NYPD's Harbor Unit, Aviation and ESU continues as they attempt to locate the teen.

Police say the boy happens to live in the area he went missing.

No further details have been revealed so far.

The investigation is ongoing.
