New Jersey fire company hoping for miracle after money stolen from Christmas tree fundraiser

SPRING LAKE HEIGHTS, New Jersey (WABC) -- A local fire company is hoping for a Christmas miracle after a Grinch stole from its fundraiser.

$1,000 was taken from the register at a tree-selling event to benefit the independent fire company in Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey.

A Facebook post from the company says that funds would have gone toward improving facilities and community events.

Police are currently searching for the thief.

The company is happy to accept new donations, and is continuing to sell Christmas trees.
