When it finally came back, when the stage was full, the house lights were up and the spell was cast, it was so big, so necessary, that it burst through the doors on West 48th Street and filled the cool night air with all Broadway has missed.
Hadestown re-opened on Broadway, a straight to the heart adrenaline shot after a 17-month-long pandemic shutdown that brought a darkness and a solitude to Midtown that a roaring, bowl-over show such as this couldn't even imagine.

One group of women in attendance had tickets to the show the night Broadway closed in March 2020 and vowed they'd be back, when it came back.
"We've been waiting for the tickets and we all knew we were going to come the first night," one of them said.
Waitress also re-opened, which like Hadestown, was a runaway hit before the pandemic.
All theatergoers were fully vaccinated and wearing a mask - and are on top of the world.
