The 875-acre water-front gem is located along the most western point of Fire Island and it's the only part of the island accessible by car via the Robert Moses Causeway.
The Fire Island Inlet Bridge with its iconic steel-arch leads right to the park's entrance in the shadow of its landmark water tower.
The waters surrounding the park are teeming with life and the lure of a fresh catch attracts countless fishermen and women.
Charter boats offer daily fishing excursions, but if fishing isn't your thing grab a boogie board and head out into the surf. The most easterly waters pick up the most swell.

If you don't want to get wet you can explore the vast dunes, hunt for sea shells in the sand or stroll along the boardwalk that leads to the Fire Island lighthouse -- the tallest on Long Island.
The park also boasts an 18-hole pitch and putt golf course featuring stunning ocean views and close encounters with wildlife.
