The accident happened just after 7 p.m. when the light rail vehicle on the Hudson-Bergen line collided with the truck at the intersection of Washington Blvd. and Sixth Street.

Witnesses describe a chaotic scene and firefighters in need of help.
"He looked okay, I think, he was just in a bit of shock," says eyewitness Rose Interiano.

The train's front window was cracked, and glass was shattered throughout the front car. NJ Transit officials say the train derailed downed overhead wires, causing sparks.
Ten passengers on the train were unharmed. Investigators are now looking over the rest of the firetruck that was damaged from the crash.
Sources say the four firefighters suffered non-life threatening injuries. It is unclear right now the extent of the train operator's injuries.
