Amelia Grant was walking in the crosswalk on St. John's Place when she was struck by a truck heading northbound on Utica Avenue in the Crown Heights section just after 2 p.m.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck did not stop at first, but 41-year-old David Chacha did return to the scene and was taken into custody.
Chacha was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle on Thursday.
The crash was one of three serious accidents in Brooklyn over a two-hour span on Wednesday afternoon.
