CORONA, Queens (WABC) -- The owner of a jewelry shop in Queens was shot during a robbery inside the store Tuesday night, according to police.

Officers responded to 35-35 Junction Boulevard in Corona around 6:30 p.m. for reports of a person shot.

They found a 59-year-old man, the store owner, with gunshot wounds.

Officials say three men burst into the store, which shares space with a beauty salon, and cleaned it out.

One eyewitness said they were helping a client in the store when the group of male suspects came in, wearing face masks and glasses.

At least one suspect opened fire, hitting the owner in the right thigh and grazing him in the head.

The witness said they ran to one of the back rooms in the shop and heard the two gunshots.

The suspects then fled the scene on mopeds with an undisclosed amount of jewelry.

No arrests have been made.
