1 killed, 2-year-old among three critically injured after apartment fire in Brooklyn

GOWANUS, Brooklyn (WABC) -- One person was killed and three others, including a 2-year-old, are in critical condition after a fire at a building in Brooklyn.

The flames broke out just after 4 p.m. Sunday inside a first-floor apartment of a NYCHA building on Bond Street in Gowanus. The building is six stories in all.

Firefighters were performing CPR on at least one of the people while rushing them to the hospital.

A 67-year-old man was pronounced dead. a 51-year-old woman, a 60-year-old man and a 2-year-old boy are all in critical condition. Their identites have not yet been released.



The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
