Man on scooter critically hurt by hit-and-run driver in Harlem

HARLEM, Manhattan (WABC) -- A 37-year-old man on a scooter suffered severe head trauma when he was struck and critically injured in a hit-and-run incident in Harlem.

The victim was traveling northbound on St. Nicholas Avenue when he was struck by a white, four-door sedan, heading west on West 126th Street at around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.

The force of the impact tossed the victim's scooter, and the driver did not stop.

The victim was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital with severe head trauma.



He was stabilized and is listed in critical but stable condition. He does not appear to have been wearing a helmet.

No arrests have been made.
