MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS (WABC) -- Two men were injured in separate hit-and-run incidents in New York City overnight.

Authorities say a 53-year-old man was struck at the intersection of East Tremont Avenue and Purdy Street in the Parkchester section of the Bronx around 11 p.m. Sunday.

He apparently walked out from between two parked cars when he was struck.

He sustained head trauma and two broken legs and was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

A dark-colored Honda or Toyota fled the scene, and police were looking for the driver.

In a separate incident, a 22-year-old Columbia University student was struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a street in Morningside Heights.

He was struck by a burgundy sedan while crossing Riverside Drive near West 116th Street just before 12:30 a.m. Monday.
