Officials say the string of events started at around 6 p.m. Wednesday, when 34-year-old Sharon Godwin lost control of a stolen Honda Accord at Broadway and West 190th Street.

Investigators say the woman, who claimed to be homeless, drove the car onto the sidewalk, slamming into six people and crashing into the R G Ortiz Funeral Home.
Bystanders rushed over to help the victims. At least one of them was pinned under the car, officials said.
Officials say the woman got out of the smoking car and ran, before eventually coming back to the scene of the accident. Authorities say Godwin was not intoxicated during the accident.
A 63-year-old woman sustained a fractured leg and broken pelvis. She was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital.
A 41-year-old man suffered minor bleeding to his head and was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
A 25-year-old woman with leg pain was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside.
A fourth adult also suffered a non-life-threatening injury.
A 4-year-old girl and a 3-year-old girl both suffered minor bleeding to their faces and were taken to New York-Presbyterian Children's Hospital.

Officials say Godwin was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and driving without a license.
