Hero Port Authority officers play Santa to children in New Jersey

Saturday, December 16, 2017
NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- They were heroes to every New Yorker this week - and now they are heroes to children in New Jersey.

The four Port Authority police officers who took down the subway station bombing suspect on Monday played Santa on Saturday.

They helped distribute about a thousand toys to children from families in need at an event in Newark.

On Monday, the officers subdued Akayed Ullah after a pipe bomb went off at the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Ullah was the only person who was seriously injured.
