The ticket was sold at Lovely Cards and Gifts at 416 South Oyster Bay Road in Hicksville.
It matched all six numbers in the December 24 drawing, which were 4-11-23-38-41-49 and Bonus Number 26.
Whoever the lucky winner is has up to a year to claim the prize.
It was a lucky night for New Yorkers as two tickets sold in New York state in the Powerball drawing matched all five white balls and won the $1 million second-place prize.
Those tickets were sold at the Ultra Gas Station, 571 West Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst, and Smiley's Stop N Shop, 17 West Main Street, in Sidney, in Delaware County.
