Early voting kicks off in Connecticut: What you need to know

CONNECTICUT (WABC) -- Early voting is underway in Connecticut for the in-party primaries for governor, U.S. Congress and state legislative and constitutional races.

Connecticut residents can vote early until Aug. 9.

The 2026 state primary will be held on Aug. 11 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The deadline to register in person is Aug. 10.

Only voters registered with a given party may vote in that party's primary elections.

Dates and times for early voting:

-August 3: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
-August 4: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
-August 5: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
-August 6: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
-August 7: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
-August 8: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
-August 9: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.



Early voting is held at designated locations within each municipality. Voters can only cast a ballot in the town or city where they are registered to vote.
